My great-uncle did the exact same thing to me. He figures he got "saved" by God and earlier in his life he was thrown into the fire, in the arms of the devil. And now he's found himself and believes in God. I'm a Catholic too, but I question the things I'm supposed to believe in sometimes. if you read the bible, it's full of hypcrisy anyway. For example, Jesus preaches that we are not supposed to be prostitutes or have anything to do with those t ypes of people, yet he was with Mary Magdalin, who happened to be a prostitute. See what I mean? You're not going to hell for brushing them off. Just because you don't want to listen to them doesn't mean anything. You're still a Catholic, even if you don't go to church often or don't always want to listen to what people say. I just know what you mean when you talk about this, and I hate it so much too.
