Graduation

So yours truly did not work tonight because I had to attend my brother’s graduation night. Technically he did not graduate highschool because he is missing a credit but the school allowed him to attend the ceremony since he was only missing 1 credit. He did pay for it already. So that was alright. Thank goodness I brought my mp3 player with me because I did not feel like listening to the speeches and the names of people being called out before my brother. Our last name starts with V and with 200+ students we had a long way to go in waiting. So I listened to my mp3 player while waiting. :sly: I just wanted to say that their valedictorian was this guy who did not win a single awards. Arent valedictorials suppose to win awards? My brother even said that people voted for him to be a valedictorial because he was popular and everyone liked him.. :rude: Popularity sucks.. Dont vote for someone as your valedictorian because the person is popular. The guy is suppose to represent the entire graduating class of 2006 yet I’ve heard that he’s into drugs.. How horrible is that?

So after the graduation, we wanted to go to a restaurant to eat but it was past 9 pm and most restaurants are already closed. :sad: Thankfully there was one left which closes at 10:30 but we couldnt eat for only 1 hour so we just had take out… So I guess that was my night. Good night all.

    That is why I am thankful that I had a small graduating class of 75 and my last name started with a ‘F’. :) Yay!

    I went straight home after my graduation…. didn’t do anything special. I liked it though. I was tired.

    I got somewhat lucky — my last name begins with L, but we had over 600 kids x_x. And I wasn’t allowed to bring my ipod last year when I went to my cousin’s graduation, lol.

    I’m going to graduate in 2 years but I already know that sadly the popular one will be choosed because it’s always like that. My class president, who everyone loves or used to…, was chose over the one who would really have fit the role…

    I had a way bigger graduating class of about 986 people, lol. Be glad that your brother didn’t go to school with me. You would’ve been there forever.

    Graduations are pretty boring. My graduating class had 205 people and I was one of them last year and it took FOREVER. I felt really bad that my whole family came to watch. It must have bored the hell out of them. How the heck did you get an MP3 player in there without people saying anything!! I know at our graduation it was really strict about stuff like that. You couldn’t even bring in things like drinks!! Anyway… At least you got food out of it! Great site!

    Weird that they vote for the Valedictorian. Valedictorians is supoosed to be the person with the highest GPA in their class. Oh well. Anyway, good iea with the MP3 players, I would not have wanted to sit through all that either. And it sucks that your brother techincally didn’t graduate, but at least they let him walk.

    They vote on validictorian?! Where I go to school its chosen by your overall grade point average and your extra-cirriculars. And 9:00pm? Wow, I live in the boonies and things don’t close ’til after midnight!

    My last name starts with a ‘A’ so I’m always around the front =) I always thought valedictorian was based on grades… mp3s are always handly :grin:

    Its nice of the school to let him join the celebration though! As silly as it is sometimes, its like something you’ve come to expect doing with your friends and peers…
