Crazy work day

Today is worth blogging for. Work was a bit crazy today. As usual because I wasnt working yesterday, I was placed into the outfield non-drinking section today. Basically I dont check as much tickets there because I tend to focus on people not having any alcohol. It does state non-drinking section. I dont understand why people totally miss the sign. :sowhat: The camera guys stand there so one of them is a good look out because he tells me if there are people with beer that I missed. So I told this guy on the front row that he cannot sit here with a beer. I didnt realize he was slow so he got all defensive on me. Stating that I dont have to wait for him to leave when he’s going to leave. I didnt want to take that risk and leave while he’s still there with a beer. If we get caught with a beer in a non-drinking section, we (the entire stadium) would lose our liquor license. I would then get into trouble because I was suppose to keep an eye on that place. So being a slow-minded person that he is, got pissed and started cussing at me. I didnt really take offense at the cursing because he is slow. Finally since he was not moving, I took the beer from him and told him to drink it on the concourse not the seats. He thought I was going to throw it but I told him I wasnt. Why would I be so stupid as to throw $9 worth of beer.. I’m not a beer drinker but I’m not that mean. So I got up there with his beer and a cop was standing there (way before I started talking to this person). He wanted to know what was going on and I told him. Finally the guy came up and I guess felt that he was being “ganged-up” on and stated that I dont have to stand there anymore. I said ‘Well this is my section, I can stand here whenever I want’. He said that he didnt even see me when he sat in the section. I told him ‘You are lucky I am letting you sit there because I know that you dont have tickets here. All I’m asking you is to not have any beer in there’. The cop was also there telling him to be quiet because he was the one who did not follow the rules. Anyway so that was the crazy slow person in my section who felt threatened that I didnt want him to drink his beer in the non-drinking section.

Then today after work while in the subway, I was eating my blizzard and some cute guy in a suit just started talking to me. He asked about my day, whether I work tomorrow, what I did for a living, if I was born here etc.. Then it turns out he’s one of those Mormons who wants to convert you to their religion. He was talking along the lines of ‘Will you allow us to call you or visit you one day?’ I said ‘ Please dont..’ ‘Oh okay. How about if you visit our church?’ ‘Um.. I dont think so.. ‘ ‘Ok will you have a card then?’ ‘Ok .. sure..’ Then he handed me a card with a photo of a Jesus Christ movie. :slant: I’m a Catholic so it’s not like I dont believe in God.. I just dont go to church every Sunday. Call me a bad Catholic person… But you cant judge me. Only He can…. :shy:

its funny cos i always see those mormons trying to convert people. i think what they’re doing is utterly dumb. if someone wants to be religious, they can, WITHOUT THEIR HELP. anyway its also funny cos they always tend to be cute and handsome looking guys… its probably a conspiracy.

Ok, that seems like a bad work day. I mean it was a non-alcoholic section, so why did he even risk that? Some people are a bit slow, and think they can get away with things like that. It’s good that you took action, no one wants to lose their license because of that. You did the right thing. Ahh so people who try to convert you, like bible thumpers. There used to be these people that would come up to our door, they were Jahovas Witnesses and they would come in gorups and try to convert you, they’d have their bible, there books and cards to their church. I was nice enough to take the book and the card, but I don’t go to church either, bad Catholic or not. You are right however, only God can judge. I hope your week is better.

Wow that guy seems potentially harmful.
Was he a big dude? If so I wouldn’t have stood up to him.
Good thing the cop was there.

Lol, those mormon as crazy. They walk all around my neighborhood in scorching heat while wearing stuffy suits.
    I couldn’t do it.

Darn those mormons! They’re so sneaky :P I’ve had the same problem before :D it’s such a let down to find out the only reason they’re talking to you is to try and convert you.

Kudo’s to you!!! I wouldn’t ever want to stand up to a stranger especially if he is a guy! I’m chicken. ^_^ Just be glad there was a cop there with you. He should have done something though, maybe like asking that guy to leave or something…

I have been asked to convert to Islam once and boy, the guy was so persistent! I said no no no from the beginning but he kept trying and telling me how it would change my life to be better and such. I got annoyed, stood up and walked away. LOL.

There are so many different tricky ways to talk people into going to “their” church these days. Some of them even sound like a scam…

That guy sounded a little dangerous, especially if he’d been drinking. At least it got solved.

Oh, I really don’t like those pushy people that try to convert you. And the way they do it is so indiscreet and impolite.

    Have a good summer.

Ugh, I used to be Mormon. They are crazy. I hated that church and not too long ago got cornered by a set of missionaries. They’re getting bolder and bolder too. I’ve heard stories of people not being able to close their doors when they are at the door. Bleh!

Ugh I hate it when people get all defensive when they don’t follow the rules because they act like it’s your fault. Really aggravating. But I think you handled it well.

I can’t help but laugh at the Mormon thing because one of my best friends is Mormon and I told him that if he ever tried to convert me I’d slap him upside the head. But they’re nice, as long as they don’t try to get me in their club.:sly:

Ah yes, the wonderful world of staffing events that allow alcohol. I’m just glad I’m not working any such events right now and I am taking a vacation of sorts from work. lol You were nicer than I would have been.

The slow guy sounds a little annoying… at least you stood up for what you were supposed to be doing :)

Mormon’s are a little scary to me, I really don’t like being approached by them!

Those people trying to convert you their religion are so nice at first that you don’t even guess who they are! Some of them used to come to our house and my mum used to open the door and chat to them while ignoring their explanation for their religion haha.

Aww sounds like some crazy day hehe…. Well at least you were just doing your job :) . I know what you mean I believe in God but I don’t go to church every Sunday either and I just don’t like how people who do think they can just judge everyone else.

Yeah, I’m thinking of taking home-schooling instead of regular schooling, but my mum’s not teaching me, I’m getting a ‘tutor’ from Oxford Home Tution.

    Heh.. Mormons..

I’m Christian, so I don’t agree with some of their beliefs. But you gotta admire them for their persistence =P

LOL, maybe that “slow” guy wasn’t so much as slow… but “already drunk” by the time you had words with him. Maybe he had started drinking much earlier, hence the “dimwit slow behavior”?
