That expired food.
My mother often buys deserts from a certain Filipino store where they also make the deserts. She bought a vanilla cake today and while she was reading the package label, it stated on the label ‘Best before 12/27/07′. She got upset and decided to call the phone number on the label and complain to the company. She said that they shouldn’t be selling expired food. She just bought them today and they should not have been on sale. She also said that she’s going to stop by tomorrow and if she sees anymore expired items, she’ll be calling the Ministry of Health. Then she hung up. She didnt even get rid of the desert. I guess it’s a good idea to keep the evidence in case we have to go to court for food poisoning… :look:

Oh gosh, you guys didn’t check the label before eating it? :? That’s something I do regularly, because companies do make mistakes. I would have probably complained directly to the store first, that way they have a chance to correct the problem before their corporate owners are notified. It’s a good safety measurement for all who buy there if she keeps up on the issue & notifies the ministry, if necessary, though.

WOW – I don’t blame your mom for being a little peeved. And that package wasn’t just a little expired, but almost a whole month. ICK. Good for her for calling the company and raising hell.

Perhaps she is over-reacting a little?
There are a lot of shops that sell expired items. And some of those shops do not mean to do it.
It is also your mother’s responsibility to check the date before she buys something.

Wow, did she eat any before she read the label? I hope she does something about it, at least complain to someone at the store.
