Damn this and Apple

So my worst nightmare when it comes to mp3 devices have come true. I currently own a Creative Zen Vision: M 30 GB. I bought it about 2 years ago when I had a full time job therefore can afford 30 gb mp3 players. It is one of the best devices I’ve purchased so far until today when it decided to die. I guess that’s about the average life span of 30 gb mp3 players? I’m not really sure but I’m so damn disappointed since the hard drive kept on crashing and it’s taking forever to load when I first turn it on. So when it finally decided to load, I decided to backup my mp3 files by transferring it to my Vista laptop. Unfortunately it wouldnt even transfer the files! I’m so mad. I dont really know what happened because after I restarted my machine, the damn thing wouldnt work. I can charge the mp3 but my pc wont detect it therefore I cant see my files. I cant add, update or remove mp3 files. The damn thing even erased all my videos! I dont mind the videos since I could always add them but the songs! Most were deleted! I had about 1100+ songs and now I’m down to 149 songs! I even tried to backup the songs through my linux desktop using gnomad2 but that didnt even work! I do have this Ipod nano that I won.. But I didnt wanna install Itunes. With the Creative mp3 player, I didnt have to install anything to transfer songs back and forth. But with Ipods and Itouch, you need Itunes to add, edit and remove sogns. You also need quicktime in order for Itunes to work. Gah. Stupid Apple and their antics.
