The Body Shop - Honey Bronzing Powder in Medium Matte

For the make up review for the week, I’ve decided to review The Body Shop’s Honey Bronzing Powder in Medium Matte. This matte bronzer comes in four shades. 01 Light Matte, 02 Fair Matte, 03 Medium Matte & 04 Deep Matte. Mind you, the four shades are very similar to each other. When I was browsing around for this, I had a hard time figuring out which one to get since I couldve pulled it off with 02, 03 or 04. But I ended up buying the 03 instead. As the name states, this is a matte bronzer which means that it was zero shimmer and zero sparkle whatsoever.

This bronzer was released last summer of 2011 and The Body Shop has decided to keep it in their permanent line. The bronzer has etches of honey comb on it and has no scent whatsoever. I use this product if I am wearing a foundation that is just too light for me. I dont use it as a contour though since I would have to pack it on to my brushes if I decide to do that. I use my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil as a contouring powder instead. However, I have a feeling that if I purchase the 04 Dark Matte, then I may be able to use it as a contouring powder. I just want to pack up the 03 onto my face and have it look so fake and cakey.

I cant really name one bad thing about this bronzer. This is $18.50 CAD online and in store. I hope The Body Shop does not discontinue it. They should definitely create more color-range for this.

Ingredients
talc, silica, nylon-12, zea mays (corn) starch, neopentyl glycol diheptanoate, lauryl methacrylate/glycol dimethacrylate crosspolymer, magnesium myristate, barium sulfate, squalane, soybean glycerides, sclerocarya birrea seed oil, pentylene glycol, tocopheryl acetate, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter) unsaponifiables, polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, beeswax, benzyl pca, lauroyl lysine, tocopherol, honey (may contain iron oxides, mica, manganese violet)

Looking at the ingredients above, if you are allergic to silicon, corn starch or talc, then you might want to stay away. It’s a shame really, since it really is a great bronzer. In case, I havent said it yet, yes I will be repurchasing!
