Here is a review of Tarte’s LipSurgence Natural Matte Lip tint in Hope. I bought this lip tint online about a month ago and have been using it for a few weeks. I’ve never owned a lip tint or stain or any kind until now. I’ve always admired Tarte’s lip tint whenever I am in Sephora but found it too expensive in Canada since it retails for $37 CAD. Therefore I decided to buy it online for a cheaper price. This color is a little pinky for my lips to make it look natural. I may need to buy a lighter color. It doesnt have any shimmer or shine to it. It really is matte! It’s not meant to hydrate your lips therefore if you’re looking for a hydrating lip tint, this is not it. I don’t think a hydrating lip tint/stain exists anyway otherwise it would be called a lip gloss.

Anywho, if you have dry lips, you can use a clear gloss to top off the lip stain. Tarte also has a lip luster from their Lipsurgence line if you do not like the matte look for a lip product. I have two lip lusters and I will do a separate review of those. I find that this is not as long wearing as I would like it to be. Just like a lip stick, whenever I drink or eat, they transfer. I have yet to find a lip product that does not transfer. The packaging is pretty cool. It comes in a plastic tube 0.1 oz. It looks like a pencil but you don’t have to sharpen it or anything. The bottom part of the lip tint is retractable to get more product at the top.

I would be repurchasing this product again but in a different color. The only downside is the price since it is too hefty for a lip stain.
